How to dispose of garbage and recyclable resources

In Urayasu City, garbage is sorted and collected as follows: combustible garbage, incombustible garbage, hazardous garbage, glass bottles, cans, PET bottles, paper, and bulky trash.

Garbage collection days

The collection days vary depending on the area where you live.

Nekozane, Kitazakae, Todaijima

Combustible garbage (Use designated garbage bags)
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Non-combustible garbage (Use designated garbage bags)
First and Third Tuesdays of the month
Hazardous garbage (Dispose of in transparent plastic bags)
First and Third Tuesdays of the month
Glass bottles, cans, PET bottles (Dispose of in the designated container/net)
Every Tuesday
Recyclable Resources Paper Trash (Bundle with string to dispose)
Every Monday

Kairaku, Mihama, Irifune, Hinode, Akemi

Combustible garbage (Use designated garbage bags)
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Non-combustible garbage (Use designated garbage bags)
First and Third Thursdays of the month
Hazardous garbage (Dispose of in transparent plastic bags)
First and Third Thursdays of the month

Note: Garbage and recyclables are collected on national holidays but not during the year-end/New Year holidays.

Where to dispose of your garbage

If you live in a house, please dispose of your garbage in front of it.If you live in an apartment or a condominium, dispose of garbage at the building’s designated collection section (in some areas, the collection site is determined by the area where you live).

If you do not know where to dispose of your garbage, please contact the Garbage-Free Section.

How to dispose of your garbage

Combustible garbage

Kitchen waste, soiled paper, vinyl, rubber, plastics, etc.

Dispose of these items in city-designated garbage bags. You can put out up to around five bags of garbage at a time.

You can purchase city-designated garbage bags at convenience stores and supermarkets.

Non-combustible garbage

Ceramics, glass items (dinnerware, broken bottles, etc.), metal items, etc.

Dispose of these items in city-designated garbage bags. You can put out up to around five bags of garbage at a time.

You can purchase city-designated garbage bags at convenience stores and supermarkets.

Hazardous garbage

Dry-cell batteries, fluorescent lightbulbs, mercury thermometers.

Dispose of these items in a transparent plastic bag.

Glass bottles, cans, PET bottles

Glass bottles

Glass bottles that contained beverages, food, cosmetics, pet food, etc.

Remove the lids, rinse lightly with water, separate colored and transparent bottles, and place them in the designated box, which is set out at the collection site the day before collection day.

Please dispose of metal lids as incombustible garbage and plastic ones as combustible garbage.

Cans

Rinse cans that contained food and beverages, crush them and place them in the designated box, which is set out at the collection site the day before collection day.

PET bottles

Remove the caps and labels, rinse lightly with water, crush them, and place them in the designated net bag, which is set out at the collection site the day before collection day.

Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, paper cartons

Bundle each type of paper items separately with string, and set them out on a collection day. 

Wash and dry paper cartons, and bring them to the collection box located in supermarkets.

If you are unable to bring them to the collection box, bundle the cartons with string and set them out on a collection day.

Paper containers and wrapping sheets

Place boxes that contained food such as sweets, tissue boxes, toilet paper cores, paper bags and other paper containers and wrapping sheets in a paper bag and dispose of them on a collection day.
