Learning the Japanese language

For the necessity of daily living, Japanese-language lessons are available for foreign residents whose mother-tongue is not Japanese.

• Residents of Urayasu City
• People working in Urayasu City
• People studying in Urayasu City

Study style

The class is held one-to-one (one foreign student and one Japanese volunteer instructor).

A textbook will be selected after a discussion with the Japanese instructor.  

Fee

300yen per month (textbook fee is not included).

Payment is made separately for the first term (April to September) and the second term (October to March). 
You pay the fee when you go to the first class.
Please note that you will not receive a refund if you quit your studies midway.

Application

Please go and apply directly at the counter of Urayasu International Center (Shin-Urayasu Il Mare 2F, 1-2-1 Irifune). Confirmation on information of vacancies may be inquired by phone, but may not be applied by phone.

Your lessons will start two weeks after your application date.

Points to note

If you are going to be absent, always be sure to call or text the Japanese instructor well in advance. If you make no contact for two weeks or more, you will no longer be able to take the lessons.
